About
Jane Lofton
Jane Lofton is a California teacher librarian, American Association of School Librarians (AASL) Best Websites Committee member, California School Library Association (CSLA) Past President, and Google for Education Innovator and Trainer.
Jane is passionate about the ability of school libraries to change lives and expand student experiences beyond the school walls, and the role that strong school libraries play in student achievement. She loves sharing her passion for reading, research, and effective and appropriate uses of technology to enhance learning and productivity, and working with students, teachers, and parents. She is an enthusiastic blogger and tweeter. Recently, she has been teaching online Learn2Tweet classes for both AASL and CSLA to get teacher librarians up and running on Twitter as a tool for advocacy and building their personal learning networks. She is also a member of the anchor team for TL News Night, and an organizer of the Somewhat Virtual Book Club network of high school book clubs. You can find her personal blog, “Jane Lofton’s Adventures in School Libraryland” at janelofton.com.
When not working or connecting with her personal learning network, she loves spending time with her husband and daughter, reading (print, ebooks, and audiobooks), traveling, cooking, walking (especially by the beach), attending plays, and exploring new tech tools, and tinkering with graphics.
